CHADRON – In an effort to better serve students on campus and around the world, Chadron State College is taking its official bookstore online through a partnership with MBS Direct.
Launching in time for the upcoming fall 2016 term, MBS Direct will provide all CSC students with a full-service bookstore experience when choosing to buy or rent their physical and digital course materials. MBS Direct will serve all students on the Chadron campus or online, including satellite locations in Scottsbluff and North Platte.
“We are pleased to be working with MBS Direct and expect to provide students with affordable and reliable service into the future,” said Dale Grant, Chadron State College vice president for administration and finance.
When students log into the CSC portal on the MBS Direct website, they will be able to select the materials they need for all their classes from a customized course list made up of titles requested by Chadron State’s faculty. Students will be able to choose format and ownership options, including used textbooks with a guaranteed buyback value for the end of the term on eligible titles, rentals, eBooks and titles purchased on the marketplace through vetted vendors.
Additionally, eligible students will be able to utilize electronic vouchers to pay for their course materials. Students will receive further information about vouchers via EagleMail.
The online bookstore also provides faculty with tools to create custom course packs with MBS Direct’s eTextbuilder tool and provide low-cost alternatives and open educational resources.
MBS Direct also handles processing and ships orders directly to students with a 99.9 percent order accuracy rate, according to MBS Direct President and COO Bill Dampier. If students have questions or issues, MBS provides 24/7 toll-free customer service at 844-603-9960, by chat through the Online Bookstore or by email at contactus@mbsdirect.net.
Since 1992, MBS Direct’s tools, services and staff have provided fulfillment, consultation and research into the future of educational materials for more than 750 higher educational and K-12 institutions. MBS Direct served more than 675,000 students in the 2014-2015 school year.
